The 5-foot-9, 135-pound junior forward led the Falcons to a 26-2-1 record and the Class 3 state championship this past season. Hency scored 36 goals and passed for 22 assists, including 12 goals and three assists in Rockwood Summit's five-game postseason run to the state title. The Missouri High School Soccer Coaches Association's Class 3 Player of the Year, he was also named the St. Louis Post Dispatch All-Metro Player of the Year and an All-American selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
Hency has maintained a 3.82 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
Hency has volunteered locally as a freshman mentor and on behalf of a special-needs soccer league. "Billy is dangerous in so many ways it's hard to take him out of the game," said Jim Layne, head coach of Fort Zumwalt South High. "His work ethic defensively is amazing as well. He is one of the better two-way players around."
