Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-9 senior guard led the Eagles to a 34-1 record and a second straight Class 3A state championship this past season. Hughes averaged 21.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 3.4 steals per game, including 24 points and eight rebounds in a 46-41 win over Montgomery Academy in the state final. The two-time Class 3A State Tournament MVP, Hughes is a three-time Area 15 Player of the Year. She concluded her prep basketball career with 2,694 points.

Academic Achievement

Hughes has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Auburn University beginning this fall.

Exemplary Character

An All-State shortstop on the Pisgah softball team, Hughes has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach and as part of community beautification projects. She has also donated her time to multiple community service initiatives through her church youth group.
