The 6-foot, 170-pound senior broke the national record in the 300-meter intermediate hurdles at the UIL Class 6A Area 15-16 meet with a time of 34.72 seconds this past season. Jones also swept the 110 and 300 hurdles titles at the UIL Class 6A state meet, leading the Tigers to a tie for sixth place as a team. He took third in the 400-meter hurdles at the Nike Outdoor Nationals with a time of 49.46, which ranked No. 3 nationally among prep boys competitors in 2026 and No. 4 in prep history. At the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, he won the 110 hurdles in a wind-aided 12.97 seconds, the fastest all-conditions performance in prep history. He concludes his prep career ranked among the top four prep performers of all time in three events.
Jones has maintained a 3.94 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to compete on scholarship at Texas A&M University this fall.
A member of his school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, Jones has volunteered locally coaching and mentoring youth track athletes. He has also donated his time on campus as a president of School Standleaders, a spirit group supporting Tigers athletic teams.
