The 5-foot-6 senior center fielder led the Bears (28-0) to the Class 6A state championship this past season. Howard compiled a .598 batting average with 10 home runs, 48 RBI and 47 runs scored. A two-time First Team All-State selection, she was also named the Albuquerque Journal Metro Player of the Year in each of the past two seasons.
Howard has maintained a 4.25 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at the University of New Mexico this fall.
A member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Howard has volunteered locally on behalf of a food bank and an elementary school literacy-outreach initiative. "Andrea Howard showed great leadership and drive for the game, and her non-stop effort on the field was very impressive," said Brandi Thomas, head coach at Clovis High. "She simply rakes at the plate, and in the field I've seen her make some amazing plays in the gap."
