The 6-foot-1, 175-pound senior led two national championship relays at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past season. Turay ran legs on the winning Swedish relay and for the 4x400 relay quartet that clocked a 3:09.86, which ranked as the nation’s No. 1 performance among prep competitors in 2019 at the time of his selection. He also ran with the 4x200 relay foursome that finished second nationally. Turay won the 110-meter high hurdles and the 300-meter intermediate hurdles at the Interstate Athletic Conference championships, and his personal-best time of 13.58 in the 110 hurdles ranked sixth in the country this spring.
Turay has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in track and field on scholarship at Texas A&M beginning this fall.
Turay has volunteered locally on behalf of Habitat for Humanity.
