The 5-foot-10 senior right-handed pitcher had led the Lancers to an 18-1 record and a berth in the state tournament at the time of her selection. Nelson posted a 12-1 record with a 1.65 ERA and 130 strikeouts in 90.1 innings through 19 games. A First Team All-State honoree and the 2017 Division I Pitcher of the Year, she threw five complete-game shutouts and compiled a 6-to-1 strikeout-to-walk ratio.
Nelson has maintained a 3.42 GPA in the classroom. She will attend Salve Regina University this fall, where she will play softball.
A member of her school's Athletic Leadership Council, she has volunteered locally on behalf of the National Honor Society. "Andi Nelson has worked so hard on and off the field to be successful," said Londonderry head coach Wayne MacDougall. "She pitched for us last season even though she was unable to practice due to a back injury. She worked hard all offseason and has had a tremendous year for us.
