The 5-foot-10 junior right-handed pitcher and third baseman led the Panthers to a 34-0 record and the Class 5A state championship this past season. Houston compiled a 14-0 record in the circle with a 0.49 earned run average, and she threw four innings of hitless relief with 10 strikeouts as Benton rallied for a 3-2 win over Green County Tech in the state final. On the season, Houston struck out 175 batters while allowing just 22 hits in 85.1 innings pitched. Ranked as the nation’s No. 36 recruit in the Class of 2023 by Extra Inning Softball, she compiled a .407 batting average with 11 home runs, 34 runs batted in, a .864 slugging percentage and 26 runs scored.
Houston has maintained a weighted 4.06 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
Houston has volunteered locally with Miracle League Benton, which teaches the game of baseball to children with disabilities. She has also donated her time as a youth softball coach.
