“Every day she brings enthusiasm to both the classroom and the track that can be matched by few student athletesAlly Simmons is an outstanding young woman and is a Gatorade Player of the Year both on and off the track. This year I had the unique opportunity to have Ally as both a student in the classroom and an athlete on the track. In many ways, she is the same young woman in both aspects with the main difference being the setting and the equipment. Ally is an extremely positive person and an exceptionally hard worker both on and off the track. Every day she brings enthusiasm to both the classroom and the track that can be matched by few student athletes and, when given a task, sets her mind to it with a determination and focus that allows her to complete it with the utmost quality. This can be seen in the work that she produces in the classroom and the championship vaults that she has produced on the track. However, the most outstanding part about Ally, who is both an excellent student and athlete, is that she is extremely humble about her achievements, preferring to show why she is an excellent student-athlete rather than talk about it. In my opinion, there is no student-athlete more deserving of the honor of Gatorade Player of the Year than Ally Simmons.”
