The 5-foot-11 senior right-handed pitcher and first baseman was named the best player in the state by MaxPreps.com during the 2020 preseason. Smith had an outstanding fall club season for the Beverly Bullets ASA 18-and-under team, firing a perfect game and striking out 139 batters in 100.2 innings against elite-level national competition. A three-time state champion with the Golden Flashes, she concluded her prep softball career ranked No. 2 in Ohio history with 51 home runs. She also amassed 163 runs scored, 162 RBI and 147 hits. In the circle, she posted a 39-1 record with a 0.48 earned run average and six no-hitters
Smith has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and will graduate as her school’s valedictorian. She has signed a national letter of intent to play softball on scholarship at Ohio State University.
A member of the Champion High symphonic and marching bands, Smith has volunteered locally as part of fundraising campaigns to benefit the American Heart Association. She has also donated her time to community-beautification projects and as an elementary school tutor.
