The 5-foot-5 sophomore won the Class 4A state meet this past season with a time of 17:55.18, breaking the tape 19.71 seconds ahead of her next-closest competitor and leading the Tigers to a seventh-place finish as a team. Dorenkamp won five races on the season and finished 16th at the Nike Cross Heartland Regional Championships. She also crossed the line in 51st at the Eastbay Midwest Regional Championships.
Dorenkamp has maintained a weighted 3.61 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her junior year of high school this fall.
Dorenkamp has volunteered locally as a youth track coach, and she has donated her time to multiple community service initiatives through her church.
