The 6-foot-2, 225-pound senior wide receiver and linebacker caught 40 passes for 612 yards and six touchdowns this past season, leading the Eagles (10-2) to Alaska’s Division I state championship. Hampton also recorded 44 solo tackles on defense, including eight for loss, and intercepted three passes, returning two for scores. He moved to running back in West Anchorage’s 34-21 win over South Anchorage in the state final, rushing for 140 yards and a touchdown to lead them to victory.
Hampton has maintained a weighted 3.4 GPA in the classroom. He has verbally committed to play football at the University of California next fall as a preferred walk-on.
A three-sport athlete, Hampton has volunteered locally as a server at an Anchorage soup kitchen and on behalf of his local church.
