Athletic Excellence


The 6-foot, 155-pound junior won the Class 4A state meet for a second straight year this past season with a time of 15:37.65, breaking the tape 12.91 seconds ahead of his next-closest competitor and leading the Knights to a ninth-place finish as a team. Russell earned Third Team All-American status by placing 16th at the Nike Cross Nationals Final with a time of 15:32.3 after finishing fifth at the NXN Northwest Regional championships.

Academic Achievement


Russell has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.

Exemplary Character


A self-taught guitarist who has performed at community meals for the homeless, Russell has volunteered locally as part of multiple fundraising campaigns to benefit The Friendship Foundation, a charity that provides financial assistance to children at St. Luke’s Mountain States Tumor Institute in Boise. He has also donated his time to community beautification projects and on behalf of numerous road races.
