The 5-foot-10, 170-pound senior running back and defensive back led the Scots to an 11-1 record and the Class A state championship this past season. Maturo rushed for 1,264 yards and 23 touchdowns, including 118 yards and two scores in a 34-21 win over Thornton Academy in the state final. The Class A Player of the Year, Maturo also caught one TD pass and returned a punt for a score. On defense, he compiled 43 tackles and recovered two fumbles.
Maturo has maintained a 3.47 GPA in the classroom. He remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
Maturo has volunteered locally with Bonny Eagle’s Breakfast with Santa program, and he has donated his time as a youth football and basketball coach.
