Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-2, 155-pound junior defensive center midfielder led the Warriors to a 12-1-3 record and the Class AA state championship this past season. Benson scored three goals and anchored a defense that allowed just one goal in four postseason games. Named the Defensive Player of the Match in the state title game, he was a First Team All-State selection.

Academic Achievement

Benson has maintained a B average in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.

Exemplary Character

A native of Liberia who arrived in the United States in 2015, Benson has volunteered locally as a school ambassador and with Collision of Sioux Falls, a non-profit student empowerment organization.
