Athletic Excellence


The 6-foot-2, 175-pound senior point guard led the Eagles to a 25-5 record and a fourth straight Division II Class AA state championship this past season. Garland averaged 27.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals per game. A McDonald’s All-American Game selection, he was one of 10 semifinalists for the Naismith Prep Player of the Year. Garland is a two-time Division II Mr. Basketball winner and concluded his prep basketball career with 2,503 points.

Academic Achievement


Garland has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Vanderbilt University this fall.

Exemplary Character


Garland has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach and he has donated his time as part of multiple community-service initiatives through the Joe Campbell Service Day project at Brentwood Academy.
