Athletic Excellence


The 5-foot-7, 135-pound senior raced to second place at the Division 1 state championship meet this past season with a time of 15:53.2, leading the Force to the state title as a team. Avila broke the tape at the New Castle County Championships, the Joe O’Neill Invitational, the Diamond State Conference championships and the Varsity E race at the Manhattan Invitational in 2019.

Academic Achievement


Avila has maintained a 4.46 GPA in the classroom. He will attend Harvard University this fall, where he will compete in cross country and track and field.

Exemplary Character


Avila has served as a peer tutor and has volunteered locally on behalf of his school’s Eco Alliance organization.
