“Watching AJ race throughout the year, he took a conservative approach to many of his races to prepare for the championship and national races. We didn’t even see his true talents until he competed nationally.”

Athletic Excellence

The state’s returning Gatorade Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year, the 5-foot-11, 147-pound senior was named the 2020 St. Paul Downtown Lions Club Male Amateur Athlete of the Year. Green also won the 2019 Class AA outdoor state title in the 800. His personal-best clocking of 1:49.83 in the event ranked as the nation’s No. 3 time among prep competitors in the 2019 outdoor season.
